Robust evaluation redesign of our programming...

The YOR team recently completed a robust evaluation redesign of our programming. These results are being shared publicly online and in our annual reports, and are specifically provided to our partners, funders and potential new client markets. Sample results include the fact that 77% of YOR students showed increased attendance rates.  In addition to measuring indicators for academic success, including increased attendance and GPAs, we also measure social/emotional outcomes as they relate to art and identify. Of particular interest to the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation, we found the following:

IMPROVED: “I understand the artistic process and have my own artistic process.” There was a 34% improvement after YOR classes, from 50% to 84% after one semester.

IMPROVED: “I understand the connection between art, music, and social change.” There was a 53% improvement after YOR classes, from 38% to 91% after one semester.

IMPROVED: “I understand the connection between art and democracy.” There was a 66% improvement after YOR classes, from 23% to 86% after one semester.

IMPROVED: “I know how to collaborate with others.” There was a 34% improvement after YOR classes, from 66% to 100% after one semester.

IMPROVED: “I feel valued in my community.” There was an 11% improvement after YOR classes, from 57% to 68% after one semester.

All results are collected via pre and post evaluations in our for-credit classes. All answers are self-identified by the students.
