Rayann Hussain is deeply passionate about anything pertaining to the human experience. The alias of RAYANN! was born in her special education classrooms, out of a pulsating yearning to be heard and respected. Their poems mainly muse on the day-to-day effects of mental illness, injustice, and the struggle in navigating neurodivergence. Combining the juvenile aura of a tried and true delinquent with the eloquence and abundance of a gifted student, she makes music for kids with 504s and writes poems to better study the chaos around and inside her. They hope to leave a mark on Denver, crush any preconceptions, and make at least one other black girl from the ‘burbs feel understood.
