Creepy Crawly Composers - Middle School

Calling all young creatives in grades 6-8th! Join us for a spooky Saturday workshop series where we'll explore: How does your favorite horror movie use sound to create a bone-chilling atmosphere?

Includes instruction on three Saturdays 10/7, 10/14, 10/21 from 1:00 - 4:00pm

In this captivating audio production workshop series, you'll step into the roles of an audio engineer, voice actor, composer, foley artist, and producer to recreate spooky sounds and compose music that sends shivers down the spine. By the end of this program, students will have gained practical skills in sound production, musical composition, and creative storytelling. We'll be using Ableton Live but no prior experience is required!

Your Student Will Learn To: 
- Capture and manipulate various audio sources using microphones
- Create eerie soundscapes and distort voices for monstrous effects
- Compose melodies that build tension and suspense- Creative collaboration with fellow participants
