Youth On Record would like to thank the following individuals, organizations, and businesses for their support:
We want to thank Alan Brooks, aka 'Soul Daddy', for coming into the Savio House classroom to teach a great workshop on lyricism and songwriting. He hosts a weekly open mic at The Walnut Room here in Denver, and he's got over a decade of experience as an emcee and musician. The students had a lot of laughs with him, and we were happy to have him. Thanks Soul Daddy.
Jami has been a huge supporter of our work, going above and beyond time and time again. She's a great friend - we love you Jami!
Johnny Crow (Click to Watch Video)
We want to send out a special thanks to Johnny Crow of The Useless Eaters for coming out to Devereux. He spoke with our students about what it means to live a sober lifestyle, and everyone had a great time following his lead on the guitar.
Nina from Devereux Cleo Wallace
Nina volunteered a ton of her free time to our program coming in on her days off to help students get a chance to record. Thank you, Nina, for your support. Check her out singing with one of our students!
Krystal Pino and HOT 107.1
Krystal Pino is the PSA Director for HOT 107.1 radio in Colorado, and we want to send a special thanks to her for providing a number of great opportunities for our students and organization. She, along with DJ RIPM, opened the doors for our students to have interviews and music played on the air, and we received a lot of wonderful publicity from the station. Check out this sound-byte of Mix Master Mike from The Beastie Boys on behalf of Youth On Record! Thank you Krystal!
The Devereux Cleo Wallace Staff
We would like to extend a heartfelt and warm thank you to the entire Devereux Cleo Wallace organization, especially Tanya Houle, Craig DeLeone, and Dustin Coleman. We appreciate their willingness to open their doors to our new organization, because: they've been generous with everything we've asked for, their facilities are exceptionally well managed and staffed, and the students are always appreciative and continue to surprise us with their achievements. The residents of Devereux are fortunate to have the support of the administration and staff there, because we've seen nothing but their willingness to go above and beyond on their behalf (ours too) time and time again. Thank you!
(check Craig out on the drums with some of the students!)
DJ Ripm and DJ Shake (click to watch video)
The students had a really fun time learning how to use turntables with DJ Ripm and DJ Shake, and we want to extend a very heartfelt 'Thank You' to them both for coming down and sharing their insights.
Yonnas Abraham (click to watch video)
Yonnas Abraham has worked tirelessly for his pursuit of his craft as a lyricist and producer. His insight was invaluable for our students to recieve, and we are very appreciative of his time and presence in our classroom. Check out his band The Pirate Signal, one of Denver's finest.
Ryan Conway of Conway Sound came and shared his first hand experiences as a professional audio engineer and producer. He covered some of his favorite production techniques, and he spoke at length about the practical aspects of making a living as a musician. The students were engaged by the valuable insights he had to offer, and we appreciate his time and presence in the classroom. Thanks Ryan.
The Christian Foundation
"...our first priority is service that embodies the principles taught and practiced by Jesus Christ and the early Christians."
- The Christian Foundation
Youth On Record is very proud and honored to be a recipient of a grant from The Christian Foundation. The money will be used to purchase music production equipment for the Youth On Record programs, a portion will be used to save for reliable transportation, and a portion will assist Flobots.org with their programs at The Denver Children's Home. We would like to say thank you for this very generous support, and we are intent on using it to expand the scope and depth of our programs.
Uhl Studios displayed some of their amazing artwork at El Camino Tavern on our behalf throughout the month of August, 2010. We would like to send a big thanks to them for this, for hosting Love Thy Chopper, and for the large donation we received from the event.
Pete has been a pillar of our organization in the founding stages of the Youth On Record. He is a great guy, and we want to thank him and his girlfriend Amy for all of their love and support. Check him out at Spot the Difference LLC.
We would like to send a very important thank you to Robin Louks from Shiloh House, who took a chance on us and gave us a great bunch of kids to start our very first programs with. Thank you Robin for all of your support and for having faith!
El Camino Community Tavern
El Camino has provided us with a place to hold fundraisers on multiple occasions. We would like to thank Grant Gingrich, Brian Rossi, and Shannon Mcelhone along with the entire staff.
We would like to thank Flobots.org for acting as our fiscal sponsor for our recent grant solicitation to The Christian Foundation. We would also like to thank them for inviting us to participate in their Art to Action programs with students throughout the Denver metro area.

Love Thy Chopper
